Same bad experience as everyone else!

I am having the same issues as everyone else. Fridge won't cool, freezes up and the ice makers have never worked, I could wait 6 months for winter and would get ice faster than these things make it. Whirlpool customer service is colder than this unit will ever get! While I have had issues since I bought the unit, it finally died on Labor Day weekend. Now we are in the 3rd week with no end in sight. I understand problems happen, but when you aren't prepared to make it right then I will do my best to make sure no one else has to suffer. Funny how all of the good reviews on this item are sweepstakes winners or people who received the item at no cost. I will see if this fixes my issue(s) but I don't have high expectations. If it doesn't fix the problem, I will be getting a refund and will not be replacing with another Whirlpool!

We bought this model because it had 2 icemakers. Love the fridge, hate the icemakers. We have had it less than 4 months and ice makers do not work. After calling in 3 times which resulted in 7 different appointments - because when the repairmen come out the first time they bring no parts - so you have to take off work multiple times for them to fix anything...both icemakers have been replaced 2 times and still do not make ice. Now they say they need to replace a different part for the bottom icemaker and replace the entire door for the top icemaker. But it will be 6 to 8 weeks because the doors are on backorder. Yet when you talk to Whirlpool, they don't even know when/if it will be available for order. They are replacing ours - and I don't even want to go with another whirlpool....

Main board replaced twice, both ice makers replaced. We had a whole week of the fridge working but guess what??? Again, NO ice and fridge is up to 50 degrees. And don't even get your hopes up with these "responses" from Whirlpool regarding our reviews where they ask you to contact them. I contacted them twice and nobody replies back. LOOKS LIKE FRAUD TO ME!. I WANT MY MONEY BACK NOW!!! I'VE HAD IT!!! I HAVE HAD REPAIRMEN OUT SEVEN TIMES. SEVEN TIMES TAKING OFF WORK FOR THIS LUNACY! Or was it eight? I've lost count!

How do you order 4 supposedly BRAND NEW major appliances and ONLY TWO of them come in working condition. Received my order on 7/6, Refrigerator not working AT ALL, dishwasher won't drain. Didn't get a replacement fridge until 7/22, still waiting on a replacement dishwasher. The new fridge hums louder than a bad ceiling fan, scratch on the outside and dented on the inside. Delivered on a Saturday, while Customer Service was conveniently closed so either I keep the damaged "brand new product" to finally have a cold fridge or send it back and wait another "7-14 business days" after the "3 business day" wait for them to approve the replacement AGAIN. Customer Service is a JOKE!! They keep saying "I understand your frustration" DO YOU?? I'm 38 weeks pregnant with a 4 year old, no fridge for 2.5 weeks, no dishwasher for 3 weeks and counting, daily stressed out by this entire situation because Customer Service can't get their story straight. Now the issue with the fridge? NO ONE in the DC area will "touch" the fridge because it's a dual compressor or something. Sooo, now the 3-year warranty I purchased is basically useless and God forbid something major happen to this thing! My husband swears these products are refurbished and sold as new. Customer Service is USELESS and so are these PRODUCTS!!

Major problem model!!

Our fridge has stopped cooling and doesn't dip below 58 degrees. We noticed this happening after our door ice maker stopped producing ice. Very irritatingly we lost a FULL fridge of fresh groceries, save for a salvaged few condiments and bellpeppers luckily stowed in a cooler area. We followed guide suggestions, and customer service suggestion to unplug/replug to restart. Fan finally came on, but still doesn't cool. Service tech will be out in the morning but after finding ALL these horrid reviews with EXACTLY the same problem, I have zero confidence these will be permanently resolved. And to hear parts may be on back order? This is a HUGE issue for such a pricey fridge! Whirlpool, will you be replacing these fridges with models that actually WORK? Will you compensate those of us that have lost our groceries (sadly for some, multiple times over)?? PLEASE make this right and don't let this fridge issue become the next Galaxy Note 7 debacle.

Part 2 If you like rotten food buy this refrigerator

For background read my first review "if you like rotten food buy this refrigerator". Going to have to leave out a lot of details because apparently there is a character limit on these reviews. So here is the abbreviated version of an update to this horror story. After being without a refrigerator for two weeks and throwing all of our food away, we had the main controller board and evap cover assembly replaced. The fridge appeared to be working again (cooling) except for the ice makers which were producing just over 1 lb of ice when should be making at least 3lb EACH. Another call to whirlpool and more service calls and now we have two ice makers on order. I find it hard to believe that they are both broken, but ok. Then next morning we check the temperature and the fridge is back up to 50F and the in door ice maker is making ZERO ice and secondary ice maker making small amounts. So now we will repeat the same process as before and have parts replaced with more bad parts. Asked whirlpool to replace refrigerator and was refused. Although I fear that a replacement refrigerator will do the same thing. Feel sorry for the people answering phones at whirlpool because they are at the receiving end of our frustration and are powerless to help us. Also feel sorry for all of the other people leaving reviews...I feel your pain. Not sure how to get in touch with someone who can actually fix this situation. Whirlpool, you really need to figure out what is wrong with this model and correct it. You also need to put some better diagnostic tools in to your products so that your techs can troubleshoot properly. I even responded back to the Whirlpool_reviews@whirlpool.com response that Whirlpool left on my first review and they haven't replied back. I'm really hoping that maybe they are able to help us.

Broken 5 times in 6 months

We've lost a fridge and freezer full of food multiple times. We've been without a fridge for several days while we wait for replacement parts. We've also been told to unplug our fridge for two days and try again to see if it worked. I shouldn't have to wait 48 hours to see if my fridge will work again. First my freezer wasn't working right, then both my ice makers stopped working (first the door). We were told by appliance repair that the door fridge doesn't produce much ice. We weren't evening getting a tray a day after being spoiled with ice for the first month. After replacing what has now been brought to my attention as a faulty part, it's broken AGAIN! What an expensive price of junk. For all the groceries I've replaced, I could buy a cheaper fridge that would still work.

Working Well Now

We got our fridge in September of 2016. It has worked wonderfully since the delivery date. This is a massive fridge with lots and lots of storage. Last week our ice dispensers stopped making ice. The water line works, but no ice. I have reset the fridge, replaced filters and tried all the other troubleshooting tips in the manual but no ice is being made. After reading the other reviews about a warm fridge and the precursor issue of no ice being made I am concerned that we too will lose a fridge of food unless we can get service to fix the cooling unit. Whirlpool, is this still a known issue? How do I get my ice makers to start working again?

I am really liking this new refrigerator. I love the fact it has 2 ice makers. And I like the door ice maker better than the my last refrigerator which was an LG and much more exspensive. The ice maker in the LG always jammed but this was one doesn't and even if it does. I have the freezer ice maker. It also has an app for an abundance of refrigerator space! I REALLY LIKE IT!!!!

I am seeing other people having the same problem as I am. After 4 months barely makes ice, then can't cool the refrigeration below 60 degrees. Now it is making a terrible noise. I could copy and paste the reviews of others, they are the exact issues.Try living with no refrigerator in the over 100 degree summer weather. We had to throw all of our food away. Two weeks after I've contacted whirlpool for service and the repair people are still waiting on a back ordered part that MIGHT fix it. Now I know why the part is on back order, because everyone who bought this piece of expensive junk needs it fixed. Whirlpool can send me a new (different model) refrigerator and buy me new groceries. Or better yet, they can give me my money back and I'll buy a refrigerator from a different company. Won't buy Whirlpool again! This is ridiculous! So MAD!

We bought this refrigerator because the old one was not worth fixing. Can't believe how great it works. Berries kept fresh for 2 count them two weeks. Unheard of. The lighting is great as we are older and hate moving ten things to find what you want. We entertain a lot and the dual icemaker is a great help. This is an appliance that you used daily and it stores some of the items you spend the most money for....food. Plenty of room and easy to find anything in it. I can't praise this machine highly enough. It is deep so you need to have the room for it. But if you are building a new house or remodeling....make room for this baby...you won't regret it.

It has been in use 3-months and has had four service calls. We are now being told there is no replacement parts. Very dissatisfied, especially after throwing food away three times. The refrigerator will get up to 55 degrees at times. Whirlpool is not very helpful in solving this issue!!!

Very Unhappy. After 7 months the ice maker stopped working and the fridge wouldn't cool. We waited a week for a part for what the repair man said was a "known issue' with this fridge. Six weeks later it happened again, no ice and the temperature in the fridge was 60 degrees. Twice we lost a refrigerator full of food.

We've had this refrigerator for about one month and love it. It is huge (which is what we wanted) and the layout of the doors and shelves make it easy to see EVERYTHING without having to move items around to find something hidden in the back. The size made installation a bit of a nightmare - the installers had to remove the doors from the unit to get it into the house and ultimately we also had to remove the trim around one of our interior doorways to get the refrigerator into the kitchen. So far this refrigerator is meeting our expectations in terms of cooling and freezing. The brightly lit interior is very nice and we love the double paddle ice and water dispenser on the front. Many refrigerators currently use an annoying single paddle with a button or switch to change between water and ice so we were really glad to find model with the stacked paddles. We also love the shape of the ice - instead of crescent shapes these are small pyramids - no more ice dams in our drinks. The second ice maker is also great and seems to be pumping out plenty of ice for our needs. The shelves on the door are in fixed positions and aren't spaced far enough apart for tall items like wine bottles or large ketchup containers so the infinity slide shelves in our unit are permanently adjusted to allow for these taller items. This is the only design issue we have with this refrigerator. A small problem we are having is an accumulation of ice in the freezer section. The doors are not 100% aligned and we believe that this is what is causingthe problem. Whirlpool was very good about issuing a reorder so we are currently waiting for the new unit.

Buyers beware of any whirlpool refrigerators that use dual cooling technology. We just had our one month old refrigerator break down after turning in our other 5 month old new refrigerator for the same exact issues. First the ice dispensers stop working, then the refrigerator portion stops cooling, then the squealing and humming noise starts. So then all our food goes bad OMG so sick of Whirlpool and their excuses why we have to be their trial customers because their engineers cant design a product that cant run consistently for more then 6 weeks without breaking down. OMG theres so much more to the story, We have a refrigerator in our garage from the 1950's that still runs today.

This puppy is HUGE! I replaced a double door stainless and have only been using a couple of weeks but so far I love it. Love the room and the infinity shelves are a definite plus. There is so much room it almost looks empty! It chimes when the doors are open too long which is great if it doesn't get shut completely. The ice box is not huge and is easily accessible, thus giving more room in the fridge. Plus there is an extra container if you want to make more ice.

We bought this fridge after having trouble with another brand. Fridge was delivered in December and its only January now and it's not working. The ice makers stopped working first, the the freezer compartment no longer freezes the food. Service was delayed a week to order a new ice maker, because apparently on the new fridge its the ice cubes that apparently keep the freezer cold. So service tech comes out and its the compressor that is bad. Display still says "0" degrees as the current temp in freezer but my food is all thawed and going bad. I was told another week to get repaired and in the meantime I guess we are expected to use ice coolers. Called whirlpool and was told they can "try" and fix it. I would think for the money spent that I would have a product that would last longer than a month or be replaced. Thanks whirlpool..

I bought this fridge to replace my 15 yr old Maytag. There have been lots of improvements over this time. I live the pantry shelves and the lighting inside. It's much easier to organize my food as there is so much room. I'm still learning how to make use all of the options but I'll get there.

So I received the refrigerator 8 weeks ago and I loved it. The layout grows on you and now I really like it. The dual icemakers are awesome. But I have two issues: #1: When facing the fridge on the bottom left, there is a vent. It's not in any of the pictures or drawing and it causes it not to match cabinet dimensions provided in the installation guide. #2: Six weeks, after I received the refrigerator it stopped cooling. Had to wait 2 days for a tech, who was very good and fixed it right away. The tech said it stopped cooling due to ice buildup that blocked a fan; that was caused by a sensor that was installed in the wrong place. It's working fine now but I question it's reliability.

Frig started leaking water all over the floor in less than a month. When repairman came, he had to call his supervisor who then gave him a list of all the parts that needed to be replaced!!! It is now Thanksgiving week---I have no ice and the frig is in an unsafe temperature range. I'll have to throw everything in my frig away. And of course with the holiday, who knows when I'll get my frig fixed. I have several Whirlpool appliances because I have a family member that works there but I'm done with them. Not one of my appliances works the way it is supposed to.

This fridge is huge, in terms of storage space - and that's a GOOD thing. I don't think my family will ever completely fill this thing. The fridge is slightly larger than the one it replaced, so be careful to measure the fridge opening (if there is one in your kitchen). Dual icemakers are great, Wifi connectivity is a nice plus (but could live without it, if need-be).
